A question for the contrarians

I've noticed a lot of liberal-leaning people express disdain for President Obama's support of gay marriage. They say it was political or insincere or whatever.

What I want to know is, in what situation would Obama's support satisfy you?

I feel like there is no answer to this. But I'd love to hear one.

If we're playing Let's Pretend, then the situation would be where his support were assumed, because it was already the law of the land.

More realistically, if he had taken a moment in his States Rights clause of the statement to decry those states who had codified discrimination in their constitutions.

All that being said, I'm tickled pink, so to speak, about the President's statement.
