Cult of personality (noun) -- 1. Any contingent of people who supports someone so ferociously that even cynicism and obvious falsehoods cannot dissuade such support; 2. The following that results from a presidential candidate's ability to speak eloquently and espouse appealing ideas; 3. Support of a candidate borne on anything other than inevitability or the idea that said person is "the lesser of two evils." [See Obama, Barack.]
