A day at the racists

I got the following list from Nick (the one-time Conservative Cajun), so you just know it's good. Because the list is poorly organized, I have assigned each "fact" a number to lump it into one of three groups. As always with the red-text entries, misspellings and atrocious sentence structures are left intact.

Thing I have learned from watching the news on TV during the last eight days:

1) The hurricane only hit black families' property.

2) New Orleans was devastated and no other city was affected by the hurricane .

2) Mississippi is reported to have a tree blown down.

1) New Orleans has no white people.

2) The hurricane blew a limb off a tree in the yard of an Alabama resident.

3) When you are hungry after a hurricane, steal a big screen TV.

3) The hurricane did 23 billion dollars in improvements to New Orleans. Now the city is welfare, looters and gang free and they are in your city .

1) White folks don't make good news stories.

3) Don't give thanks to the thousands that came to help rescue you, instead bitch because the government hasn't given you a debit card yet.

1) Only black family members got separated in the hurricane rescue efforts .

3) Ignore warnings to evacuate and the white folks will come get you and give you money for being stupid.

Wow! Where to start? Actually, this isn't that complicated:

1) Oh no! The blacks got noticed! What was that again about liberals always playing the race card?

2) Hey, Katrina hit other places too! Where's the massive coverage on that? Katrina's destructive swath cut far and wide. But just as I don't expect the media to harp on Hurricane Katrina's effect on Lafayette, neither do I expect it to equate the damage in Mississippi and Alabama to that of the New Orleans area. Why? Simply because New Orleans, Chalmette and the rest of southeast Louisiana weathered an unprecedented amount of hurricane fury.

3) White people are smart and benevolent, while black people are stupid and lazy. Looks like some peoples' attitudes never change, or grow even more blatant with news of tragedy. I can only hope that the long list of people who had forwarded this trash weren't really paying attention.

There, that wasn't hard. But then again, ignorance is never hard to counter.

ian how could you be so prejudiced? we white people have suffered long and hard for the rights we have today. we endured an attack on christmas just last year for god's sake! you need to embrace your roots and accept that we, as whites, deserve at least SOME of media coverage too.

and would it kill the nfl to hire some white coaches?

Wow...

You'd think that by now I'd stop being shocked by finding this kind of stuff. But I just keep being amazed by how low people can stoop.

Reading that list actually made my testicles ache.

This is typical. Typical compassionate conservatism.

After the lambasting that Kanye West took from the Right for going off script and saying George Bush doesn't care about black people, what would they say seeing this bullshit from Bush's core constituents.

Assholes.

It's getting to the point where I'm really starting to question my position on the issue of violence vs. non-violence. I'm starting to think that it's the only thing these neaderthals understand.

It's funny, yet predictable that Icon would try to use this to label me and who passed this e-mail around as racists, especially since he knows many of us from being the manager of the school track team and, here's the kicker, there are black people who received that e-mail from some of us and AGREE with it, except for the last point of the list, which I'll admit was absurd.

The list was to get across these points:

1. New Orleans was not the only place to get ripped apart. What about Port Sulfur, which is where my dad was born? It may no longer be on the map once the water receeds. Mississippi anyone?

2. Stealing food & water for your family is acceptable in that situation. However, stealing TV's and Playstations is stupid and that's when Darwin's Theory ought to kick in and keep some of those from being about to produce offspring.

3. There are infact white people who lived in the ghettos in New Orleans who also suffered. So, for Jesse Jackson to go there and bitch about how the blacks are the only ones suffering is dumb.

If the list really meant to get those points across, then it would have SAID:

So, for Jesse Jackson to go there and bitch about how the blacks are the only ones suffering is dumb."

As it is, you forwarded the message and thus imply that you don't have a problem with it.

On another note, which black people that we both know told you they agreed with this as written? You can e-mail it straight to me. Saying they agree that looting is bad or that there's lots of black people there doesn't count. They have to agree with the list itself, like you claim they did.
